What Makes ABCya Trustworthy?
ABCya.com was created in 2004 by two married public school teachers, Lisa and Alan Tortolani, who found existing free game sites to be a poor fit for their students. Alan Tortolani set to work creating one game after another, with about 20 games completed by the end of his first school year teaching. The website soon became popular with students and teachers alike, and by 2011, ABCya had gone on to release standalone games on the iTunes store, with Math BINGO even topping the educational game category charts.

How Do I Start Playing ABCya Games?
If you're on a computer, you can play any game and watch any video on the ABCya website for free without limits. No personal information is entered to play, and no information is stored. You will need a current release of Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge web browser or version 11 or higher of Internet Explorer. Some games require version 12 of Adobe Flash Player, which you can download for free.

You can also play games on the go with the ABCya Games app, available through Google Play and the iTunes Store. You'll need either an Android device or an iPad or iPhone. Unlike the website, you can only play six games for free per week with the app. For more than that, you need to subscribe for $5.83 a month, which gets you unlimited access, full screen size, parental access controls, no ads and access for up to five devices at once. Teachers can do the same for up to 30 devices for $25 a month.
What Games Can I Play?
The ABCya website offers several ways to find games to play. You can sort by grade level (pre-K to sixth grade and older) and subjects, including science, social studies, typing, art and music and more. Alternatively, you can choose from different themes, such as cars, cats, robots, food and more, or different genres, including bingo, crossword, hunt, multiplayer, platformer, puzzle, racing and word search.

Most games, such as Baby Chick Maze, Alarmy Desert and Alan's Pizzeria, include colorful characters and fun interfaces designed to make learning an enjoyable experience. Titles like Number Ninja and 100 Snowballs help develop math skills, while ABCya Storymaker and The Friendly Letter Creator can help convince students who might not otherwise enjoy writing a story or letter to have fun with those activities. By creating a free account, you can favorite up to three games to more easily find the ones you most enjoy, while premium subscribers can save an unlimited number.
The website also offers free coloring pages and educational videos that feature many of the character's from ABCya's games, such as Adventure Man, Danger Dame, Kit Foxtail, Slimezilla and more. Additionally, its story-themed games are basically virtual picture books for young students.
